انتشرت عبر مواقع التواصل الاجتماعى، "فيديوهات" توثق الزلزال الذى ضرب ولاية كاليفورنيا، والذى بلغ قوته 7.1 درجة على مقياس ريختر، والذى يعد الأقوى منذ 25 عاما، حيث لحظات الفزع والرعب لسكان الولاية وقت وقوع الزلزال.

وأظهرت العديد من الفيديوهات قوة زلزال كاليفورنيا، حيث تدفق المياه من حمامات السباحة، وسقوط واهتزاز اللمبات و الأثاث فى المنازل والكافيهات والمطاعم ولحظات الفزع والخوف داخل المحلات التجارية.

وكانت قد قالت هيئة المسح الجيولوجي الأمريكية ومرصد أوروبي للزلازل إنه تم تسجيل زلزال قوي بلغت شدته 7.1 درجة في جنوب كاليفورنيا، وذلك بعد يوم من أقوى زلزال تشهده المنطقة منذ 25 عاما.

ولم ترد تقارير حتى الآن عن أضرار ووقع الزلزال على بعد 202 كيلومتر شمالي لوس أنجليس، وخفض مركز رصد الزلازل الأوروبي المتوسطي شدته لاحقا إلى 6.9 درجة، بينما قال مسئولون إنه تم تسجيل بضع إصابات فقط بسبب زلزال.
